And then it was January, full lockdown, waiting for the sun and a covid shot, what to do? I decided that since I was in the flow anyway, and not able to get out, I might as well invent another game. The inspiration came from the placement protocol of Mike Zapawa's Tumbleweed, a very 'bacteria in a petri dish-like' game that feels a bit sticky in close combat. I imagined something a bit more 'jumpy' and after trimming down the cannon and bullet concept to something behaving balanced in this environment as well as being hard finite, Cannons & Bullets emerged as a territory game.
