It was still March and the row at BGG had died down a bit. I kept contemplating 'knight vision' as in KnightVision because I saw the contours of its use in a unification game. The problem is that you need an initial position, but I also wanted a placement phase with the same 'axe-protocol' that I used in KnightVision. You cannot start out empty in a unification game because the goal is already reached with the first placement. No you need scattered stuff first, to be able to unify it. So I created a two phases game where the two phases are separated by an event: the simultaneous presence of six axes on the board, regardless of who owns them. That way there's a growing phase and a unifying phase, and axes do their thing in both of them. Enschede, March 2021 christian freeling |
